It’s kind of ironic that only a couple of days ago I was complaining about having some downtime but not really knowing what to do with it. For most of this week I’ve been writhing around with a sore back, which means I’ve been grouchy and doing very little expect lying down and picking on my dog.
It all started when I decided to re-watch Gravity Falls in preparation for the big season finale tomorrow (EEEEEK!)
(Don’t judge me, it’s a great show. Also, I’m an adult and I DO WHAT I WANT.)
Inspired by the classic rainbow-vomiting gnome scene in the show’s pilot episode, “Tourist Trapped”, I went looking for Jasper.
He eventually forgave me when I took him hiking at one of the local conservation areas. I honestly figured it was water under the bridge at that point. I mean, dogs don’t hold grudges and Jasper’s a pretty forgiving fellow. I was so convinced of this that I didn’t even find the way he ninja-stalked me around the apartment all evening to be exceptionally out of place.
And so, this morning I went through our ritual of letting him out to do his thing, followed by fixing his breakfast and playing with him a bit before starting my day. You know, because I’m loving and devoted like that.
Well played, Jasper. You may have won this round but until one of us actually vomits on the other I’d say it’s anyone’s game.
I’ll bet you’re glad you chose to read this post today.
