Real or fake? YOU DECIDE!

You know what I just realized? It’s officially been a week since I launched my “blog everyday for the rest of 2013” challenge and I haven’t missed a day yet.

Maybe it’s too soon to celebrate but I’m feeling pretty good about this project, guys. Letting myself off the hook from needing to write something thought-provoking every single time has been really liberating. Now I just need to strike a fine balance between substance and mindless rambling.

I don’t know.

Two things for today, dear reader:

#1 – Chris Hadfield did an interview on the latest episode of Nerdist.

At this point I don’t think I need to go on about how my I admire Chris Hadfield. Chris (a different one!) and Matt from a podcast I really enjoy called Nerdist got to sit down with the astronaut/Canada’s darling for a super fun interview. It’s informative AND funny! Give it a listen!

#2 – I need to get a Christmas tree and I don’t know what to choose

It’s time. I am ready to set up my Christmas tree and really kick this festive season off right. For the past two years I’ve had a real tree but now I’m toying with the idea of getting an artificial one instead. Sure, it costs more upfront but after a couple of years it pretty much evens out. If I get a pre-lit one I don’t need to worry about fighting to string the lights, which is always such a pain. I’d have to think about where to store the box during the rest of the year but the alternative is having to go out, find a tree, get it home, haul it upstairs, etc. I’d miss the smell but…

So, seriously I need your help. What do you think I should do? Let me know in the comments!

Bill Cipher, Gravity Falls, cartoons Alex Hirsch, doodle, Sara Hamil, They Call it Gumption
This Bill Cipher doodle seriously has nothing to do with the rest of this post, I just really miss Gravity Falls.

Get a fake tree and hang pine-scented air fresheners. Hassle-free AND festive. :D

I actually found a couple of candles that would be perfect at Chapters. One smells EXACTLY like a real Christmas tree (none of this “here’s our creative take on what a Christmas tree smells like *cough*GLADE*cough cough*) and one that smells like and actual camp fire. I could pretend that I had a real tree AND that the fireplace channel was the real thing too! ;)
