About They Call it Gumption

They Call it Gumption is a blog composed of the thoughts and stories of an adventurous-hearted girl stumbling wildly into adulthood despite her childhood goal not to. It’s the story of growing up Gen Y; the story of a 20-something with big time ambition broadcasting live from a small town. One part professional and two parts personal, it’s the same ol’ story, except for when it’s not.

And more than often, it’s not.

About the Author

Sara Hamil is a storyteller, adventurer, quasi-anthropologist, accidental social media enthusiast and dog-lover. She spent most of her youngest years living all over western Canada (plus a brief lay-over in China and an on-and-off-again romance with Toronto) before choosing to call the city of Belleville, Ontario home. A graduate of both the University of Toronto and Loyalist College, Sara is now proud to call herself a public relations professional (seriously) and part-time professor (also seriously).

Marrying a life-long love of writing and yammering endlessly, Sara writes about her life and loves, which generally consist of her work, her wanderings and her beloved dog, Jasper. If it sounds like a bit of a grab-bag, that’s because it is. But don’t worry – she does her best to keep it interesting.
